- Studies using radioactive tracers have shown that acupuncture channels (meridians) are in fact distinct channels that are separate from blood vessels and lymph vessels.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Generally, acupuncture and dry needling does not hurt. Some people feel the needles as they go in, and some people feel nothing. Acupuncture needles are solid needles, not hollow like hypodermic needles, and they are much, much thinner – about the diameter of a thick human hair. Some patients often feel a slight tingling sensation and others might feel a mild, dull ache indicating the acupuncture point is being activated and the treatment is working.

About Revive Acupuncture
Megan Dauphin, L.Ac.
Megan Dauphin is a California board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist with specialties in infertility, menopause, hormone health, metabolic diseases, and digestive disorders.
Megan is also certified in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine, plant-based nutrition through the Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University, and a Chinese medicine infertility specialist through the Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).
Brent Dauphin, L.Ac.
Brent Dauphin is a California Board licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. Brent studied traditional Chinese medicine at Five Branches University where he completed over 3,200 hours of comprehensive clinical and theoretical training. During this time, Brent trained onsite at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.
In 2008, Brent and his wife Megan founded Revive Acupuncture with the goal of helping the Fremont community find optimal health and wellness.
Jessica Luu, L.Ac.
Jessica Luu, L.Ac is a California Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist. She received her Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Five Branches University in San Jose. There she completed more than 3,200 hours in Eastern medical and Western medical training.
Jessica loved learning about Chinese herbs and was chosen to manage the herb room for the University clinic. Additionally, Jessica also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Hawaii.
